Steve Wolak is the founder and head of the Betavine, Vodafone’s developer outreach website — recently much heralded by Vodafone’s CEO Vittorio Colao — and he just started blogging.
His central question: “Crowdsourcing, open and collaborative innovation, the long tail, wikinomics … what does it all mean for the corporate company? particularly operators?” Several of his recent posts are about the Betavine Social Exchange, a project funded as part of the Vodafone Group Social Investment Fund, which seeks to enable access to communications in emerging markets.
In his most recent post on the mobile ecosystem in emerging markets, Wolak says that one of the drivers behind the Betavine Social Exchange is to help local entrepreneurs to think about the mobile space and its opportunities.
