Annie Lambla

Senior UX Researcher

I appreciate the puzzles of art and language, the joy of good design, and the magnificence of wilderness.

Annie is an experienced ethnographic researcher. She holds a BA in anthropology from Kenyon College, and an MBA in marketing, innovation and sustainability from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia, where she was awarded the Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility Scholarship. She also studied film and ethnology at the Université Paris Diderot, and has professional working proficiency in French.

Annie’s previous work includes dairy farming, research and project management for projects on urban planning and regional food economies, and most recently, innovation and strategic research at The Sound for clients including Google, Netflix, Pinterest, Sainbury’s, Quintain, and Johnson & Johnson.

An active member of Vancouver’s social innovation community, Annie served as a mentor and visiting instructor for the social innovation business incubator RADIUS Ventures Slingshot Accelerator and an advisor for Ftsy, a disruptive footwear retailer. She is insatiably kinetic, a lover of nature, food, dance, and laughter.

What's the most interesting thing about UX for you?

It means you can step into other people’s worlds, you get to be an explorer, and it forces you to withhold judgement.

If you had a warning label, what would yours say?

Made from natural ingredients - tone may vary.

Where do you find inspiration?

Creating something with my hands. Outside. Wherever there is a little bit of chaos to navigate.
